Guy De Maupassant
Maupassant is one of the most famous French short story writers; he has crafted over 300 short stories and several novels. He is well-known for crafting characters that are three-dimensional and realistic.
While he was born into an upper-middle class family, their fortune ran out quickly, leaving Maupassant to make his own future. Luckily, his writing was enough to sustain his living. Unfortunately, he died at the age of 42 in a mental asylum. |
