The Lost Boys of Sudan
Sudan is the largest country in Africa, and it has been torn apart by the continent's longest running civil war. As the majority of Africa identifies as Muslim, Christian and tribal religions are outnumbered. Islamic law is imposed upon the people of Sudan, and rebel forces have fought to gain freedom. Over 4 million Sudanese have been driven from their homes, while another 2 million have died.
The Lost Boys are those displaced from Sudan. Many made a trek to Ethiopia, only to be pushed back into Sudan. Those who survived the journey found refuge in Kenya. |
